EACH year, our first class catering team creates thousands of mouth-watering meals using only the finest quality ingredients. Our innovative Food Direct From The Farm philosophy means we use locally sourced produce – ensuring that ingredients are fresh, healthy and in season.
The scheme allows us to proudly support local businesses, and we do our best to source ingredients within a 30 mile radius of our venue so there are less food miles from Farm to Fork. For instance, our delicious seasonal strawberries come from Lutton Farm near Oundle, Northamptonshire our succulent sausages from Grasmere Farm at Deeping St James, Lincolnshire and our tender Aberdeen Angus beef from nearby Briston Fen, King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
From the Farm to the Fork – such a tasty concept!
IF you are looking for inspirational food and delicious dishes made with selection of seasonal and fresh ingredients – Food Direct From The Farm ticks all the boxes.
Whether lunching at a business conference, attending a private function or grabbing a bite to eat at one of our public events – the standard of our food is of the same high quality throughout.
So, our philosophy of using local nutritious ingredients means that tucking into everything from a snack on the go to a three-course gala dinner, eating at Peterborough Arena is always a dining delight.
The Peterborough Arena’s successful and sustainable approach means that to date, 30 local businesses are also being supported through the scheme, with the majority of ingredients sourced within a 30 mile radius of the venue.
We even pick our home grown fruit and fresh herbs right on our doorstep, thanks to our pear and apples trees, blackberry bushes and our abundant kitchen garden.
With less food miles, the carbon footprint is also reduced, and customers get their taste buds tickled with a range of fresh and nutritional dishes.
The scheme was launched in 2003 by the East of England Agricultural Society to promote British Agriculture by sourcing all of the produce used in Peterborough Arena’s indoor and outdoor catering operations from local farmers and food producers.
And we also go those extra environmental miles by sending kitchen oil away to be turned into bio fuel, and recycling all our cardboard and glass.
